Occupying the site of the former Smiles Brewery Tap, the Colston Yard has long since had the best bottled beer selection in Bristol. With enthusiastic new(ish) managers Seb and Dean, and hopefully the continued support of owners Butcombe, that selection should expand to the taps. The rotating guest pump’s recent Raging Bitch, one of the few barrels in the UK of Brooklyn Sorachi Ace Saison and a Nogne O double IPA are hopefully a good indication of what’s to come. The pub is modern and a little bit confused between pub that does food and restaurant that does beer. But the ultra competitive price of the beer more than makes up for that.

(Beer selection current as at May 2012)
